本日、3Mはコンバット・アーム・イヤープラグの訴訟和解への請求人の参加率が、最終登録日である2024年3月25日までに和解合意で定められた参加基準の98%を超える見通しであることを発表しました。

2023年8月に発表された和解条件では、3Mは2023年から2029年にかけて、訴訟解決のために総額60億ドルを支払うことに合意し、その中には98%の参加基準を満たした場合に、総額のうち最大10億ドルを3Mの株式または現金で支払うオプションが含まれていました。3Mは株式ではなく、現金による10億ドルの支払いを選択しました。

和解に参加し、請求の放棄・棄却を選択した25万人以上の和解金を受けることができる請求人からの強力なサポートと、広域係属訴訟裁判所が命じた参加要件または訴訟要件を満たさない請求の継続的な棄却により、最終登録日までに訴訟請求の99%以上が解決される見込みです。
