3M and 3M Foundation are donating cash and needed supplies to communities affected by the recent tornado outbreak in the South and Midwest. The storms, which occurred the weekend of December 10-11, killed nearly 100 people and spread a path of destruction across at least a half-dozen states.

3M Foundation is providing $225,000 in emergency cash assistance for our strategic disaster relief partners: the American Red Cross, Direct Relief and MAP International. Each organization will receive $75,000 to help those in need.

The company also pre-stocks our nonprofit partners with 3M products to assist in recovery efforts when a disaster strikes. Those donations typically include:

  • First Aid tapes and bandages
  • Respirators
  • Safety glasses
  • Stethoscopes
  • Infection prevention products
  • Duct tape, reflective tape and tape used for packing and sealing
  • Working gloves and sponges

3M is already in discussions with those organizations about any additional products they need to enable their critical work.
