Every 3M plant has a lot of moving parts. From the machinery itself to the technology that keeps it up to date, everything stays in working condition thanks to IT and maintenance 3Mers who work around the clock to make sure all the pieces are in place.
“In IT, we’re on call 24/7,” said Katisha Mitchell, IT site lead at 3M Greenville, S.C. “Being agile means being willing to put aside work we had planned in favor of responding to unplanned situations that help our critical operations continue.”
Machinery fixes require just as much attention. Ray Green, a maintenance machinist and mechanic at 3M Chelmsford, Massachusetts, finetunes equipment every day along with making unexpected fixes.
"We have to keep these machines running at their highest practical level. We keep things running pretty smoothly.”
Production teams depend on 3Mers like Katisha and Ray, but they’re always excited to rise to the challenge.
“We’re committed, we like to have fun, we like to learn new things,” Katisha said. “That’s the part that keeps us going. We’re problem solvers.”
