“The Irwin Award is NIB's most prestigious accolade bestowed upon those who have made outstanding contributions to creating and improving employment opportunities for people who are blind,” said Jeanne Morin, chairperson, NIB board of directors. “Considering 3M's commitment and significant impact on creating career opportunities for people who are blind, we are thrilled to award 3M this exceptional honor.”
The company’s relationship with the NIB began in 1987 and has provided career opportunities for more than 200 people who are blind. Their excellent work helps the company build several products, including self-stick notes and easel pads, desktop filament, electrical and masking tapes, and packaging materials.
