3M and the PGA TOUR have signed a seven-year agreement to bring an official PGA TOUR tournament to Minnesota next summer. The event, sponsored by 3M, will be called the 3M Open and will be played at TPC Twin Cities Golf Club in Blaine.
“3M is honored to welcome the top players on the PGA TOUR to the Twin Cities, and we look forward to the many opportunities this tournament will bring to support our community,” said Paul Keel, senior vice president, 3M Business Development and Marketing-Sales. “We’ve formed a great relationship with PGA TOUR Champions over the last 25 years and are excited to build on that partnership with the 3M Open.”
The 3M Open will build off the success and momentum of the 3M Championship. Since 1993, the 3M Championship has raised more than $26 million dollars total to help our fellow Minnesotans and their families lead healthier, fuller lives. Dollars raised at this event have built new operating rooms, funded cancer and heart research, and improved emergency rooms in the Twin Cities.
As 3M transitions from the 3M Championship to the 3M Open, the newly established non-profit 3M Open Fund will look to support our community by donating all tournament proceeds to selected charities to help improve every life, a key element of 3M’s Vision.
